We’re Gavin and Lurline, Owners of Saletoga Sands Resort & Spa.
Originally from New Zealand, our love for travel, food, family, and friends led us to beautiful Samoa, where we now call home.
The beginning of our journey
From our very first visit, we knew Samoa was something special. It was during one of our many trips here that we stumbled upon an old coconut plantation, resting on a pristine white sandy beach. Surrounded by lush greenery and exotic flowers, we found the perfect spot for Saletoga Sands Resort & Spa.
Gavin’s vision & experience
With over 40 years in the building industry, Gavin’s passion for creating and designing brought the resort to life. He’s worked closely with his team to build a modern, elegant resort, that still reflects Samoa’s rich cultural heritage.
Lurline’s culinary passion
Lurline’s love for food shines through in every dish. From designing menus to working alongside our chefs, creating award-winning cuisine that delight our guests.
Hands-on approach
We’re hands-on owners, and every aspect of the resort has been designed with care and passion. We love staying on top of new innovations and always look for ways to improve.
Our team is family
A huge part of our journey has been working alongside and educating our staff. They’re not just employee’s; they’re family. Without their dedication, we couldn’t have made our dream a reality.
A strong connection with the community
Our neighbouring villages, particularly Matatufu, have welcomed us warmly. It’s been a privilege to get to know them and their culture, and we actively support their initiatives.

At Saletoga, we believe in personalised service. We want every guest to feel at home and cared for. Many of our guests have become lifelong friends, and we love taking the time to get to know everyone who stays with us.
